The main operational roles include, but are not limited to: - Area Managers
Area Managers have experience in running complex operational environments and come with strong process and people skill set, underpinned by project and programme management abilities and are comfortable making decisions in constantly evolving fast-paced environments. In Amazon, Area Managers are in charge of one department of the Fulfillment Center and tasked to deliver the targeted key performance indicators; as an Area Manager you will be running systems and processes and you will be on the floor leading a shift / large team of Associates and Leads and you will be their primary point of reference. - Operations Managers
Often MBA qualified, Operations Managers are experienced leaders with a well-developed ability for planning resources and managing other managers, running multiple simultaneous work streams and with a project and programme management skillset. In Amazon, they are critical to the organization of the activity in Inbound or Outbound to deliver the Customer Experience and act as Shift Managers, running shifts often of several hundred Amazon and temporary associates, ensuring that the Area Managers have the appropriate set of resources on their team to deliver on their key metrics. Senior Managers, typically with 10-20+ years of high level leadership experience normally with an MBA or Masters level educated and experence of managing both other managers and large number of staff. Senior Operations Managers deliver huge impact both on the customer experience and the cost performance of the Fulfillment Centre. Reporting directly to the General Manager of the site, the Senior Operations Manager will be providing leadership to Operations and Area Managers as well as driving safety, quality and process improvements by using LEAN / Six Sigma / Kaizen methodologies, whilst enhancing productivity to benchmark levels. You will play a critical role to the management, control and direction of either Outbound or Inbound of Fulfillment Center Operations.
