Job Description

Amazon is looking for an HR Business Systems Analyst to help us define and implement our HR technologies worldwide. As an HR Business Systems Analyst on the Digital Document Management (DDM) team, you will own the implementation and enhancement of digital document management solutions that improve our ability to scale and enhance all of our customers' experiences. Types of projects include country expansion, new product launches, and enhancements. You will work globally with business owners, technology owners, and HR partners at all levels to understand and help define the digital document strategy, gather requirements, and deliver new solutions that are in alignment with global HR and DDM objectives. You will own the relationship with our business owners to ensure their requirements are clearly captured and communicated, utilizing existing agile processes. The primary tasks include understanding business needs, translating them into user stories (requirements), analyzing problems using available data and information, proposing solutions, testing the final product against the original requirements, and helping implement those solutions. This position requires that the Business Systems Analyst also have strong functional knowledge and experience with the information systems (e.g. HCM, CRM, etc.). Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver technology solutions – Implement global technologies and services to meet long term HR and DDM business needs; partner and consult with the business to identify and define business requirements and to initiate and prioritize enhancement, gap analysis, and prepare functional specifications
  • Develop support model – provide production support for business owned rules, processes, and maintain production support documentation, design business processes and associated support structures that align with technology solutions
  • Requirements – Coordinate the collection of global business requirements, user acceptance test (UAT) plans and use cases
  • Executing corporate-wide initiatives – Establish project plans, assemble resources, manage implementation activities, and develop all processes associated with program rollout and ongoing support keeping key stakeholders in the loop
  • Driving operational excellence – Drive global HR process optimization and standardization while balancing the business need for flexibility and appropriate localization; build HR processes and tools that ensure a high quality employee experience as well as compliance with policies and regulations
  • Subject matter expert – develop deep knowledge of the HR and DDM downstream/upstream systems utilized by Amazon, advise the business on best practices and global requirements for optimizing the use of these systems

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Information System (preferably HR systems) experience
  • 4+ years relevant program/project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Information Systems as a SME or Business Analyst
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technology related field
  • Experience implementing and maintaining systems and processes in large-scale, complex environments
  • Highly innovative, fast learner, flexible, self-directed results-oriented person with a focus on delivering quality solutions
  • Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users, writing user acceptance test scripts and facilitating UAT sessions
  • High level of critical thinking/problem solving
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Amazon HR systems related experience
  • 2+ years of PeopleSoft experience
  • 2+ years with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions
  • Program management/project management experience/skillsets (entry to intermediate)
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP system experience
  • Experience with Agile project teams
  • Experience with International businesses and customers
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Strategic view, able to perform cost benefit analyses, accurately assess risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and evaluate the implications in a complex business environment
