Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company? Come and make history in Amazon’s Global Trade Compliance department as we are looking for a talented Senior Trade Compliance Manager to better serve our Turkish speaking customers as part of EU Expansion plans. You will execute on a broad range of trade compliance matters. You will work directly with business leadership, Procurement teams, Legal, Tax and a variety of other internal business partners, as well as external vendors, to drive trade compliance requirements across the supply chain.

Principal Duties
  • Work with Amazon’s Global Trade Compliance team to execute strategy, drive & enforce global import / export processes and leverage technologies.
  • Drive scalable business solutions and ensure compliance with trade regulations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Fluent in Turkish;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment is essential for success;
  • Experience with import/export compliance regulations in Turkey and Europe;
  • Proficiency with implementing processes to comply with Controlling Agency requirements, such as Customs authorities;
  • HTS classification expertise for import and export;
  • Customs broker implementation and management experience;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and computer skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree;
  • Retail industry experience;
  • Project management experience;
  • Familiarity with risk based control modeling ;
  • Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements;
  • Project Management Certification (e.g.: Six Sigma);
  • Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor;
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations;
  • Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable processes.
