Job Description

Three years after launching, Amazon Video is now a global service of movies and TV shows - carrying a huge selection of licensed content, third party channels, and original content. Amazon’s investment in content includes TV series, such as The Grand Tour and American Gods, and movies, such as the acclaimed Manchester by the Sea - earning three Academy Awards and a Golden Globe in the process.

The Commercial Insights team work with the Amazon Video EU marketing team, based in Central London. The marketing team is responsible for driving customer growth and engagement with Amazon Video through a broad range of marketing channels and relies on making agile decisions based on customer understanding and campaign performance.

In order to scale in step with this rapidly evolving business, the Commercial Insights team values curiosity and a fearless approach to evaluating and adopting new analytical technologies, methods and approaches. You will be responsible for turning data into actionable insights on customer behaviour and marketing impact, including customer acquisition and retention initiatives as well as contributing to marketing strategies for current and future products.
The successful candidate will have excellent data manipulation skills in SQL, experience of advanced modelling techniques, as well as good communication and stakeholder management skills. Working closely with internal clients is a core function of the role.

Key Skills:
· Ability to translate business problems into analytical tasks and communicate results back to a business audience
· Experience of working with marketing stakeholders
· Excellent data manipulation skills. SQL required
· Experience of advanced modelling techniques (e.g. regression, segmentation)
· Strong statistical skills
· Strong technical competency and ability to learn new systems and work with technology teams

This position will suit a Data Analyst, Marketing Analyst or Business Analyst that has specifically worked with marketing data and has experience with SQL and data manipulation. Attention to detail is crucial and we welcome the ability to bring data to life, conveying insight in a simple and impactful way. Think effective, efficient and elegant.

Basic Qualifications

For this role we expect:
  • Educated to degree level in a numerical discipline
  • Experienced with SQL and working with relational databases
  • Experienced at analytical data manipulation on large marketing databases
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Further qualifications would be a plus
  • Experience with Tableau or other dashboard tool
  • Statistical modelling techniques, e.g. customer segmentations; propensity models
