    The Selection Contribution Platform (SCP) is now looking for a Front End Engineer to join its team.

    The role will entail combining business requirements from users with design & style input from the internal Amazon design team. This will require building complex logic and data structures into intuitive UIs. The role requires a good understanding of data structures (e.g. hash maps) and algorithms and also knowledge of how to efficiently make use of underlying back end services. We are looking for developers who are passionate about building great UIs. If you have a deep interest in all things related to Web Dev – JS, HTML/CSS, React/Redux or Angular and enjoy writing code then this role will be ideal.

    The Selection Contribution Platform (SCP) owns the systems that allow Amazon retail business units to carry the largest, highest quality and most up to date retail selection in the world. SCP directly contributes to Amazon's vision of carrying earth's largest selection. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in driving Amazon's Retail business. You will work on key strategic programs while also working on optimization, usability, scalability and availability of our applications. Working with business teams to translate their needs into technical requirements you will build cutting-edge systems that meet challenging business and technical goals.

    Basic Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Significant experience as a front-end developer or web technologist role
    • Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
    • Strong knowledge of web technologies including: HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, XML, JSON, React/Angular, web and server programming
    • Passion to design and develop intuitive user interfaces
    • Ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
    • Strong customer focus with ability to translate user requirements into good design
    • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to have fun!

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
    • Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineer
