We are looking for a talented professional fully focused on fueling our innovation pipeline for our European Consumables businesses and taking the lead on the development of new initiatives in areas such as Machine Learning, category specific enhancements, and definition of operating model for new categories.

This individual will be a self-started outstanding product manager with technical background, coupled with strong customer orientation, business acumen and ability to think big. They will be able to deal with ambiguity while driving the future roadmap of the product family.

This role will be based in Amazon’s London office.

Key Responsibilities:
In partnership with the European Consumables leadership team, the Leader EU Consumables Innovation will have the responsibility of defining the strategy, generating the pipeline, and driving the implementation and execution of technical initiatives across the following business areas, with a Pan-European remit.

Machine Learning: Initiatives aimed at leveraging data (Amazon or external data sources) to better inform Amazon decisions such as informing the selection strategy and potential curation, improving the ability to surface the most relevant offers for each customer, and driving customer engagement to increase category customer penetration and shopping frequency.

Category specific enhancements: Initiatives aimed at unlocking specific business opportunities or resolving customer pain points specifically for the Consumables categories. Working with the category teams, surface, assess and prioritize the initiatives, by identifying the needed technology teams and driving the implementation.

Support the definition and drive the development of category expansion: a number of categories require dedicated approaches from a customer interaction stand point, as well as operational stand point. The leader will develop these initiatives by applying the Customer Backwards methodology, and interact with senior stakeholders in driving their approval and setup.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s Degree. MBA highly desired.
Fluent written and spoken English – additional European languages advantageous but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Senior Manager, Technical Product Management, with a demonstrated track record in ideating, designing and driving customer facing and operating model innovation at scale.
· He/she will be able to drive large engineering efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. Identifies risks/opportunities in technical strategies, architecture(s) and/or in engineering organization structure(s).
· He/she will have a firm grasp of business processes and a broad commercial understanding, and excel in technical understanding and ability to work with multiple technology team, potentially leading directly a technology team.
· He/she will have had experience in process improvement methodologies and, with profound knowledge of how best-practice tools and processes work, he/she will have the ability to dive deep in the details of processes, people and technology challenges and opportunities.
· He / she will be able to earn the trust of their senior leadership team through challenging preconceived norms, enabling growth and improving efficiencies.
· He / she will demonstrate excellent business judgment and have the ability to generate ideas and solve problems independently, turning data into clear, actionable programs.
· The successful candidate will also have a comfort with detail that will enable them to dive into issues, analysing complex data sets and communicating the implications for the business while offering solutions.
Although naturally strategic, they will have strong operational skills and enjoy the day-to-day demands of being part of running a business.
