    The Amazon Video Playback team is looking for an experienced and talented Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help build solutions that change the way customers watch movies and TV shows. The Playback team is responsible for creating a smooth and seamless video experience on the web, various mobile devices and living room devices such as the Kindle Fire, 3rd party Android devices, Smart TVs, Xbox, Wii/WiiU, and PS3/PS4.

    As a member of the Living Room Playback team, you will play a key role in delivering software products and features to the highest quality, using a wide range of technologies, devices and systems. We’re looking for a hands-on leader that can make a huge impact on a dynamic, fast moving business. Someone who is equally comfortable digging in to business requirements as drilling into architecture and design or diagnosing issues with development teams. Your focus will be on developing Amazon’s custom video and audio player for living room devices, and ensuring that the player runs with high reliability and quality across all living room devices.     A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management and organizational skills, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, high creativity, and great analytical reasoning. They should be motivated to ensure high quality delivery and must be capable of managing key third-party software vendor technical relationships. They will have extensive experience in defining projects and programs, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new feature set as well as analyzing the costs and benefits of feature selection and communicating the results through the organization. The candidate should also be comfortable of defining metrics or developing methodology to measure the delivery, using data to drive better decisions and be able to explain technical issues and resolution status in clear terms.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
    • Experience Technical Program Management experience in a related industry, including hands-on management of large, cross-functional software efforts
    • Ability to conceptualize complex interrelated applications and system platforms, as well as the ability to effectively communicate those systems to non-technical team members and business partners
    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects through work prioritization, planning and task delegation
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Education: MS or PHD Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
