Build on AWS for AWS! We are a cross-functional team within the AWS Solutions Architecture practice tasked with the design, construction and maintenance of standardised tools, prototypes, demonstrations, white papers (and more!) intended for use by the larger AWS Solutions Architecture community and AWS customers. Our role is to help scale the solutions architecture function within AWS through the delivery of high quality, foundational artefacts that can be re-purposed and re-used by AWS Solutions Architects and AWS end customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Develop a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform and its many services. · Interface and work with AWS solutions architects and AWS customers to gather requirements, anticipate trends within the community and industry, and use those inputs to prioritise future solutions. · Architect, build and maintain re-usable artefacts such as tools, prototypes and white papers for use by AWS solutions architects and AWS customers. · Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. · Help provide one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers and the solutions architecture community. · Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architecture community. · Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers and blogs.
· 5+ years of experience in the design and implementation of complex IT solutions (including scalable cloud-based solutions and microservices architectures). · Experience in infrastructure, database and networking architecture for highly available, Internet-scale applications. · Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies. · Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with CTOs, enterprise architects, IT management, and developers. · Strong written communication skills. · High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organisations. · Technical degree (Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience. · Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
· Development or operations experience in a cloud based environment. · Experience with DevOps culture and Agile software development. · Experience with configuration management, infrastructure automation and CI/CD tooling. · AWS Certifications. · Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services. · Knowledge of multiple, modern development languages such as Python, Go and Node.js. Experience in a customer-facing role such as consultant, solutions engineer or solutions architect
