    Amazon is seeking a skilled and motivated Sourcing Manager to assist in the logistics management, procurement, and execution of Amazon’s Linehaul movements flowing into and out of its European Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers and Amazon associated fulfillment network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in a high growth area within Amazon.

    An ideal candidate has a background in leading a successful Transportation / Line-haul operations team and/or Procurement Services, and have the ability to lead a team, evaluate and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current systems. This job will require exceptional communication and interpersonal skills while having the ability to work independently in a stress environment and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving complex logistics problems, possess a bias to get things done, and deliver results.

    Responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
    - Contribute to the development and adoption of key strategies, processes and ways of working in sourcing function including contract compliance.
    - Accountable for creating and achieving cost savings, cash flow improvements, capacity security, service performance and quality targets.
    - Develop strategies across line haul solutions and expand their sphere of influence across the stakeholder’s budget.
    - Work closely with Legal, Risk and Business team to implement cost savings strategies.
    - Drive innovation and champion value-engineering across Inbound, Outbound transportation and Carrier negotiations.
    - Deliver measurable financial and non-financial benefits to the business.
    - Monitor market prices to ensure accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation.

    Additionally, as a Senior Manager you will be an excellent communicator (both verbal and written), as you will be required to convey updates on issues, operational status and business drivers during shift changes as needed throughout the activity cycle and during daily / weekly reviews.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Educated to degree standard and qualified by Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, or to an equivalent level. MBA or graduate degree in business, engineering, logistics or similar field AND relevant experience
    - Demonstrated negotiation skills and management of third-party vendors - Possess solid experience within a similar level Procurement role with cross-category expertise ideally within either Transportation / Logistics / Services or Direct Strategic Materials.
    - Supply market cost monitoring and risk management / mitigation and contract management.
    - Strong change management and implementation experience.
    - Track record of delivering sustainable and consistent cost saving projects.
    - Proven track record of extracting innovation from the supply base and implementation thereof in the organization.
    - Be a dynamic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, flexible and motivated to succeed in a challenging environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience managing complex sourcing activity and contractual agreements.
    · Some EU language (French/German/Spanish) ability would be very advantageous.
    · Understanding of EU Transportation regulations
    · A self-starter who loves data and who enjoys spotting the trends in it
