    The Prime Video (PV) Web team owns the website experience for all PV customers worldwide. This includes the AV Homepage, Detail Page, Search, Browse, Watchlists, Your Video Library, Account Settings and the Getting Started experience. We're building PV's next generation website architecture and customer experience using technologies such as Node.js, React, Scala and machine learning.

    As a Software Development Engineer on the AV Web team, you will design and implement significant technical projects by writing critical-path code. Working with the Software Development Manager on the team, you will take the lead in identifying and solving ambiguous technical problems, architecture deficiencies, or areas where your team’s software bottlenecks the innovation of other teams. You'll also lead design reviews for your team, and provide insightful code reviews and mentor other engineers.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
    • Highly proficient in at least one of Java, C++, C#, Objective-C.
    • Experience with one or more of JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python.
    • Evidence of working with algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
    • Evidence of working with object-oriented development and design patterns.
    • OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
    • Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture.
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience as a full stack software development engineer (front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between)
    • Good experience with Node.js & React
    • Experience with Scala or Java
