Alexa Shopping enables customers to instantly order whatever they need, by simply interacting with their Smart Devices such as Echo or Fire TV. Our Services allow you to shop, no matter where you are or what you are doing; you can go from 'I want that' to 'that's on the way' in a matter of seconds. We are seeking passionate engineers to help us create new ways to interact, search and shop. Join us, and you'll be taking part in changing the future of everyday life.

The London team is seeking a talented software developer to design and develop the next generation shopping experiences. You'll have the freedom and encouragement to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers. You will have an impact on Amazon's new devices and the way shopping is done in the area of IoT. And finally you will have the satisfaction of being able to look back and say you were a key contributor to something special from its earliest stages.

What you will work on: You will design and implement components accessed by millions of customers on Amazon.com and Mobile applications. You and the team will build and operate massively scalable services while also developing delightful app experiences. You will design and implement feature components, mentor and grow junior developers, encourage software development best practices, and iterate quickly.

What we are looking for: We are looking for a talented software development engineer with a strong technical background, customer obsession and bias for action with a track record of delivering robust solutions quickly. The ideal candidate will be someone who innovates, loves solving hard problems and never takes no for an answer. Our engineers are some of the best software developers in the industry, who work hard, have fun and make history. Your solutions must be well designed, implemented, tested, deployed and supported. Your success will depend on your skills in understanding the big picture of Amazon's business and delivering incremental solutions contributing to the larger vision.

Given that this is an early-stage initiative, you will play an active role in building quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. Along the way, we guarantee that you’ll learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status
