Prime Video supports millions of devices daily in over 200 territories around the world and is building the future for streaming video. We work with app developers, service teams, and data providers to dramatically improve customer experience and implement cutting edge products used every day, by people you know.

You will be building a full stack platform using multiple AWS technologies (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, and Athena to name a few) to analyse data flows through multiple services and devices giving teams the information they need to: experiment in the right area, support operational events, measure success and failure metrics, and investigate customer journeys through our products and services. This platform will be the 'goto' tool for all software and business teams within Prime Video and eventually Amazon as a whole.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who is customer focussed, likes creating truly innovative solutions, has great communication skills, and embraces a high standard of operational excellence. We will invest in your growth by allocating 10% of your time for side projects outside the normal project scope and encourage training courses. But it’s not all work! Social activities include hackathons, team lunches, ping pong, pool, and table football.

    Responsibilities:
    > Be responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features such as data ingestion, self service tools, and dashboarding.
    > Investigate design approaches, prototype technology and evaluate technical feasibility, on your own and with other team members.
    > Establish architectural principles, select design patterns and mentor team members on their appropriate application.
    > Operate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Proficient oral and written English communications skills.
    • Collaborates well in a team environment.
    • Highly pragmatic; we use technology to solve real-world problems expediently.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to take a problem, create the design and estimate the time to implement the design autonomously.
    • Experience and willingness to mentor more junior engineers and help them develop their skills and leadership abilities
    • Experience with designing, building and deploying scalable; highly available systems.
    • AWS Certifications or willingness to take these
    • Mastery of the tools of the trade, including continuous delivery, system operations, monitoring, and web services.
