    The Financial Systems team is seeking a talented Senior Software Development Engineer to technically leads teams in building world-class bespoke financial software from the ground up to support our expanding global video business. As an Amazon Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the team to design, develop, test and deploy new products, systems, and features to automate financial processes. A successful candidate will have strong technical ability, great communication skills and an established background in leading teams to designing developing full-stack n-tier systems. An interest in how we account for and manage the financials for a multi-billion dollar business would also be beneficial.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Computer Science & software engineering fundamentals in algorithms, data-structures, object-oriented design, efficiency, concurrency & performance optimization.
    • Highly proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Scala, C++, C#, Objective-C, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python, or Kotlin
    • Proven technical leadership of at least 1-3 teams as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, or Architect
    • Strong experience in leading teams in systems design & architecture, including leading design reviews for your team and/or others
    • Experience leading and influencing professional software engineering best practices for your team and others, across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code & design reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, security, and operations
    • Experience mentoring software engineers on your team to successfully execute on their deliverables, and achieve their longer term career aspirations
    • Experience working directly with customers, senior management, and/or business/product teams to influence your team’s roadmap & prioritization, as well as defining requirements for highly ambiguous problems

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with cloud computing, and large-scale, high-availability distributed architectures that have been successfully delivered to customers
    • Experience with big data processing
    • Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
